I got bored and nostalgic so I’ve been watching a lot of Scooby-Doo, plus I wanted to try out my new outlining pens.
Mystery Inc. but it’s the 1890s
Who had late Victorian Scooby Doo on their 2024 bingo card? Hmm?
The idea came to me when I was thinking about Sherlock Holmes and then remembered the iconic mystery solving gang hehe
a scooby-doo origin story where Daphne, Fred, Velma, and Shaggy are all serving detention together and none of them (save for maybe Fred and Daphne) have ever really talked before, but they talk in detention. they have fun, they're bonding, it's a real Breakfast Club situation, and as detention ends they're walking home and they see a dog digging through the garbage of a local restaurant
he's big, but he seems sweet and he's obviously hungry, so the gang approaches him to see if he has a collar. Shaggy manages to get to him first, and the dog immediately takes to him, giving him a big dog kiss and cuddling up to him, but the dog seems to like all of them
upon finding he doesn't have a collar, Shaggy, scratching behind his ears, rhetorically asks, "What's your name, buddy?"
and the dog answers, "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"
after a minute of freaking the FUCK out and asking each other "y'all heard that, right?" the kids decide to take the dog (who they immediately start calling Scooby-Doo, Scoob, or Scooby for short) home, and find that not only can the dog talk, he displays human-level intelligence and is easily frightened. when they ask where he came from, he doesn't seem to know, but when they walk past an old, abandoned shopping complex on the edge of town, he completely freaks out...and there are weird noises coming from that complex at night....and some suspicious sightings....
the first mystery they investigate together is the mystery of what in God's name is going on here
When Shaggy and Scooby were scared of everything. They took the armor of the skeletons, they are more braver than I thought

Shaggy leans back against the seat of the van. The small box in his lap feels like it carries the weight of the sky, but he wouldn’t let go. No matter what.
The lanky teen gently rubs his finger over top of the silver box. “Scoob... I- I love you buddy.”
He can’t stop the tears. He doesn’t want to. He wants to scream and throw things because it’s not fair. Why Scoob? Why his best friend?
His sobs turn into into choked puffs of air. Shaggy had told the other to leave him be. The gang wasn’t the same without Scoob.
Shaggy sniffles, but furrows his brow as an uneasy feeling grows in his stomach. The air around him grows heavy. His eyes snap up to the back doors of the van as an eerie red glow shines through.
The doors suddenly fly open.
“Hey-Ho, Kermit the frog here. Shagg, it’s time.”
The teen glares daggers at the figure before him.
“Like.. Kermit, man. Now isn’t a good time.”
The muppet pulls down his dark cloak, revealing his sinister smile. “On the contrary, now is a perfect time.”
The scruffy teen turns his head away, clutching the silver box close to his chest. “I promised to like.. never use my power for evil man.”
Kermit just chuckles. “That’s what Mickey said too. And ah, look where he’s at.”
Shaggy remains silent. He looks down at the box in his arms as his breaths start to grow ragged.
The frog enters the van slowly and places a hand on Shaggy’s shoulder. “I’ll tell you a secret Shagg. Everything I do, it’s for Miss Piggy. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her.”
The teen continues to remain silent, so Kermit leans closer. “Don’t you want to avenge Scooby-Doo? Get back at that man who took him away.”
Shaggy thinks for a moment, then his eyes harden in determination. “Like... yeah man. You’re right.” He opens the silver box and pulls out Scooby’s collar.
He clenches the collar as his eyes begin to glow. The van starts shaking, pulses of light shooting out from around the lanky teen. His eyes go completely green as he surges to 1% of his power. “I will find you Scooby. And then I’ll kill the man who took you from me.”
The rest of the gang watches in horror from just outside the van. Their eyes trained on the glowing figure that blows a hole through the top of their van. They’re transfixed. And they completely miss the small shadowy green figure that slinks away.
I’ve done it. I’ve found my type. Shaggy haired men with emotional issues being drawn to the dark side in a vulnerable state. I’ve found my favorite media. I’ve moved past the need to watch content I like I shall now m a k e.
This is hands down one of the best things I ever bought ⚡️🤟🏻
And that dude who played shaggy in the scooby doo play where Scooby died and shaggy became an fbi agent and velma did drugs and fred sold weed

How have I never heard this!? Amazing song, spectacular animation, and whatever the heck sort of tonal dissonance you get singing a song about avoiding supernatural threats while blithely picking a fight with nature and all its dangers.
Love this song so much, best in the whole franchise
My dad discovered last night that his wife of almost twenty years doesn’t like Scooby Doo. We were all in shock.
The one good thing to come from the Velma show is that now everyone is watching and appreciating the master piece that is Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated

It wasn't really for Halloween or anything but I wanted to do concept art for Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne. I might do the rest of the gang but here's how it turned out. Hope you all like it.

a scooby doo series set in community college where the gang is in a criminology class and end up in a huge debate on the first day of class that leads to them starting a podcast talking about local urban legends, only to realize things aren’t quite adding up and they go to investigate for ~journalistic authenticity~ and end up solving a real-life crime disguised as supernatural occurrences. this happens every week and they’re frequently featured on the school newspaper. they only have twenty listeners
