As Celeste and Mahiru exited the plane they took in the scenery. It was gorgeous in Paris, as they already knew, but being here in person made it even better. Mahiru took out her camera and smiled at Celeste, who struggled to not full out grin and keep a small smile. “Are you ready?” She asked. Celeste nodded and took her hand.

Someone had called Mahiru and wanted her to take pictures from all across Europe for a magazine. It was going to be a magazine about the top ten best places to visit in Europe. All expenses would be paid for since it was an honor for them for the Ultimate photographer to be taking them. It would give them quality photos and a nice seller to add that it was an Ultimate taking the photos. Mahiru had told Celeste about it excitedly, knowing how much she loved Europe. The gothic Victorian era is her aesthetic, after all. Celeste had confessed that she wished she could go, to which Mahiru asked if she would go with her. Celeste happily agreed and they set off.

Every place had been amazing. Germany’s scenery was beautiful. Mahiru took lots of pictures of the Bastei and with the Elbe river. She also took some pictures of the Neuschwanstein castle, which Celeste commented on how much she wished she lived there.

They had been to lots of other places across Europe (sorry, didn’t want to make it too long) and now they were at their final destination. Paris, France. Dusk was upon them and they made their way over to the Eiffel Tower. Celestes eyes lit up as she watched it light up. She dropped her facade for just one moment to gawk at the scene. Mahiru was holding her hand and taking a picture at the same time. Then she let go. “Now go ahead!” She said with a smile. Celeste looked at her. “What ever do you mean?” She asked. “Stand in front of it! I want to take a picture of you in front of it like this!” Mahiru said with a wide smile. Celeste shook her head. “I’m afraid not today. Doing something like that is such a…tourist thing to do.” Celeste said, trying to be dignified. “Nonsense, just go do it.” Mahiru said, taking her hand and pulling her towards the Eiffel Tower. “See? I’ll do it with you! It can be a selfie!” Mahiru claimed. Celeste saw her draw a camera and smiled slightly as the flash went off. “..Thank you, Mahiru.” Celeste said softly, her face tinted pink like the sky.

“…ait!” It called out. Nagito looked at it questioningly. “You can’t do that!” A boy with brown hair said. Nagito crossed his arms and sighed. “And why should I listen to you? Who are you anyways?” The boy seemed to shift a little. “My name is Makoto Naegi.” “And do you have an Ultimate?” “Yeah, I’m the Ultimate Lucky Student.” Makoto said. Nagito shook his head. “Well I’m sorry for you then.” Nagito said, about to get back to the plan. “Wait! You can’t end yourself!” Makoto shouted, attempting to take the tape. “Oh? And what gives you authority over what I do?” “Well, nothing really..but you still can’t, Nagito! Think about what this would do to your friends? If you want to restore their hope, then you need to live, don’t you?” Makoto said nervously. Nagito sighed.

“They don’t even like me at all.” Then his face brightened. “And that’s okay! I don’t need to be friends with people who focus on despair so much. Keeping the traitor alive is the only way hope will ever win.” Nagito said, his eyes locked onto Makoto. Then a very quick thought crossed his mind. Makoto Naegi..isn’t that one of the people who survived that other killing game? Ah, no wonder why he wants him alive. It’s probably for his own benefit.

“Well Makoto, it’s been fun but-“ “Nagito, please..you have to stay alive for the sake of hope. You can change, you know? Everyone here can change.” Makoto begged. Nagito shook his head. “You believe that hope rises from despair, don’t you? Well, if this is the ultimate despair, then you all can rise to become the ultimate hope!” Makoto said, trying to stop Nagito. That did make him pause. “Nagito, listen to me. Ending yourself? How could you just do that? That means you’ve given into despair and let it overcome you. So just fight it!” Makoto said, small tears in his hazel brown eyes.

Nagito sighed. “…Fine. I’ll try to fight it for now. However, the main reason why would be because the timing of my plan would no longer work.” Makoto sighed out of relief and smiled. “Where did you even come from anyways?” Nagito asked, crossing his arms. “Oh uhh..” Makoto said, sweating. “It’s complicated.”

Mission: Find the gift

Chiaki yawned, smiling as she entered the hallway to the malls main shopping area. She was determined to find her girlfriend the perfect gift. Sayaka would be holding a concert tomorrow, and it would be the first one since she and Chiaki got together.

“Quest: start. Mission: Find Sayaka a nice gift.” Chiaki said under breath. The mall was huge, so she shouldn’t have a hard time finding a gift! After all, Sayaka isn’t that picky, right?

Chiaki walked through the different stores, careful to not get too sidetracked by games. That was until one caught her eye for good reason. It had a bright teal cover that had wings on it. (For anyone who’s curious about it, look up Just Sing.) It was a karaoke game, which seemed perfect! But would Sayaka like it or is that just her own opinion? Chiaki decided to take it and hold onto it while looking around some more. This particular store seemed to have everything, ranging from video games to flowers to small packs of candy and gum. But what would she like the most? Chiaki rubbed her eyes and then checked a nearby clock. Sayaka’s concert starts in three hours. Chiaki held the game closer to her and then walked over to to a small bundle of lilacs and bought them both.

Chiaki moved towards the entrance to see Sayaka. “I’m sorry Miss, but Miss Sayaka is getting ready for the concert.” A bouncer said. The door swung open anyways. “Chiaki! You came!” Sayaka said happily, ignoring the bouncer and the gifts in Chiaki’s hands. Chiaki smiled sweetly and held out the gifts. Sayaka gasped at them and dragged Chiaki into the dressing room.

“Aww, are those for me?” Sayaka asked, taking them once the door was closed. A bright pink blush was spread across her face. Chiaki nodded. “The lavenders are to help you sleep, since I noticed you don’t sleep well before a concert.” Chiaki said. “Well not everyone can sleep as easily as you can.” Sayaka laughed. Then she looked at the game. “Oh, is this a karaoke game?” Sayaka asked. “Yep. I thought it would be fun since it combined both of our talents.” “It really is perfect for us, isn’t it?” Sayaka said with a grin. “I guess this also means I’ll hear your singing voice?” Chiaki nodded.

Once the concert was over, the two girls went home hand in hand and fell asleep easily, a small vase of lavenders next to them on a nearby dresser.
