From a manifestation veteran

Your subconscious doesn’t have eyes; it only believes what you tell it.

Dominant thoughts create emotions which is why emotions do not matter when manifesting; only thoughts matter.

Repeating a thought or affirmation enough will imprint the subconscious. Imprinting the subconscious is not hard, and anything will manifest if you do not GIVE INTO WAVERING. If you waver, it’s not the end of the world; it's an opportunity to affirm more. Every time I have a negative thought abt my manifestation I repeat a positive one 4 times.

It is normal to have occasional negative thoughts, we are human, entertaining those thoughts is wavering. Such as making negative scenarios in your head, listening to sad music or just letting that negative thought spiral you into more negative thoughts. I allow myself to cry for 5 minutes however I get right back to affirming afterwards.

Doubting your manifestation is a sign that affirmations are working and you need to persist (it’s just a good mindset to adapt).

Changing your affirmations out of anxiety and worry, doesn’t help; pick 1-2 affirmations and stick with them (this can also just help you build up your belief in manifesting and yourself).

There is no magical affirmation; the simpler, the better.

Get off manifesting social media, trust me you are ready.

It doesn’t matter how other people manifested something, you are ultimately the creator and you decide whether a method works for you or not. You do not need to believe anything a popular manifestation guru tells you. This is your reality and you are the creator whether you like it or not.

You need to take responsibility for what you create, you are not the victim.

“It’s only 4 months love, we’ll be home before Christmas that’s what they told us, that’s nothing when you got what we got” he said with that cheeky smirk that never fails to make you fall in love with him all over again.

You gave him a half hearted smile, you couldn’t imagine what life was going to be like without him. You already did basically everything together; you had not long moved in together and you worked at the betting shop together. At least you would have Polly and Ada for support, they saw you as family since you had been around for so long, and reassured you they would be there for you ever since you found out John had to go away for a little while.

“I just don’t want anything to come between us” you muttered softly, staring at the ground. John lightly lifted your chin up so you were looking into his eyes.

“Enough of that aye? I love you babe, some time apart ain’t gonna change that, and you know what? when I come home, I’m gonna make you Mrs Shelby. How’s that sound?” You couldn’t help it, your eyes filled up with tears at his beautiful words. “You really wanna marry me?” you looked up into his eyes.

Without hesitation he chuckled “course I do love, I’ve wanted to make you my wife since the first day I set eyes on you” and with that he pulled you into a tight hug as he softly pressed a kiss on your forehead. His older brother, Arthur appeared behind him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“It’s time to go, Brother” he looked at you apologetically “don’t worry love, I’ll take good care of our John Boy, keep him out of trouble” his attempt at trying to lighten the mood made you chuckle.

“I’ll believe that when I see it” you said as you pulled the oldest Shelby brother in for a hug. You and Arthur had always got on well, ever since you had to help him with the books at the betting shop, after all he needed it he hadn’t finished school. Since you and John got together he had seen you as a younger sister.

As Arthur boarded the train, your attention turned back to John, the very man stood in front of you struggling to hold it together. “Look after yourself okay baby? write when you can. just please hurry home to me” he leaned down and kissed your lips softly.

“I love you” he whispered as he moved a strand of hair from your face. “I love you too John, I’ll be right here waiting for you” you replied. You held onto his hand for as long as you could, right up until the last minute before the train pulled away. You watched his face at the window disappear into the distance. What you were going to do without him you didn’t know, but he would be back in a few months, before Christmas you would see him, you were sure of it.

Laughing about everything and anything.

Bitching about people together.

His brother’s say he is whipped but he doesn’t care.

Sitting on his knee in the Garrison.

Forehead Kisses but also lots of makeout sessions.

Putting his arm around you in public.

Him hugging you from behind.

So much PDA, eventually it becomes a normal sight to everyone.

Helping to raise Finn, John admires you for this and says “you’ll make a great mum one day love”.

Taking him home to meet your parents, your mum loves him because of how charming he is, you’re dad is cautious of him to begin with but warms up to him eventually after he sees how much he loves you and makes you happy.

Going with him to all the family meetings, and your opinion being valued because of how long you have been with John.

Being there for him after the war.

He is super protective.

Basically being part of the Shelby Family.

Polly loves you, you have tea with her every Sunday.

Ada sees you as the sister she’s never had, the two of you talk about feminism together.

Lots of cuddles.

Arthur calling you Sister and always teasing you about your relationship, especially during your many PDA sessions in the Garrison.

Singing together when you are both drunk and staggering home from the pub.

Cooking together drunk in the early hours of the morning.

Being so excited when you find out you are pregnant and running to the betting shop to tell John immediately.

He is so excited at the news, he picks you up and spins you around.

John being extra protective throughout your pregnancy.

Standing up to Tommy when he tries to get John to do things he doesn’t want to do and because he likes you and sees you as a sister, he respects your opinion even although he may not always take it into consideration.
