I think what makes the romance in Happiness work for me is that the conflict comes from the situation the quarantine has placed on the story. There are no love triangles, messy inlaws, harassment from coworkers, noble idiocy, or class disparity/uncomfortable power dynamic between the two leads.

We just get to watch two people who already care and trust one another grow closer in this situation.
