You know, when it comes to Tony being accused of keeping secrets and “not telling the team about his secret project” in AoU, a lot of people immediately brings up the fact that Steve didn’t tell Tony about his parents as an explanation that Steve fucked up too or fucked up more than Tony, and it is fine, but I think there was one instance in AoU alone when Steve did something worse than Tony.
Let me explain.
Ok, so Tony wants to make Ultron, yes? And he looped in Bruce. A lot of people think he looped him in, because they’re besties or assume that Tony did that with an ulterior motive of talking Bruce into agreeing with him, but you know what I see? Tony, even after his Wanda-induced vision, making a choice to loop in someone whom he trusts to not approve of something which is utterly wrong, reckless and possibly dangerous. Bruce is not some whimsy, who got talked into doing something bad, no matter how much he tries to act like it in the movie (I hate you Joss Whedon for making him act like this). Bruce is a person who messed with stuff he shouldn’t before, and he knows the consequences of that. He is probably the only person who would say a harsh no to Tony if he truly didn’t consider Ultron to be a good idea at all. Tony went to the scientist to get an ok. He didn’t go to the team, because frankly the team is not full of experts in science or AIs specifically, and they got permission from Thor to study the Scepter, and he didn’t object to them using the knowledge they gain in their own projects, so they were in the clear all along. So yeah, Tony didn’t need to tell the team, because he already told the most qualified person about it, and got his blessing to proceed with it.
Steve, on the other hand? He didn’t tell the team that he will bring Wanda and Pietro to the lab. He didn’t consult with anybody else, only trusting his own judgement, because he saw them helping him stop the train, and that made him believe they’re ok.
He couldn’t possibly know that they truly defected, or they just helped him to gain his trust. He just took them into the lab as if they were not Hydra operatives hell-bend on killing the team. He didn’t make a decision which only he was qualified for, because despite the fact he was there when they saved the train, making a judgement like that is not something the rest of the team is not qualified for.
He should have consulted his choice with others beforehand, he should have talked to Tony as it is his lab and his place he brought enemies to. He should talk with Bruce, if not to ask him for insight, then to at least ensure that he would not Hulk out when he sees Wanda. He should have talked to Natasha and Clint, hell to the whole team, because he was the only one who saw the twins doing something good (which also makes him qualified and unqualified to make that judgement, because he could trust his eyes instead of his instincts, Natasha is better for that, than him), and he didn’t have all the info, he couldn’t know if they’re not lying. So with his choice to bring them in, he endangered the whole team and possibly the whole world if the twins were truly lying and killed them all then and there.
I don’t say he shouldn’t give the twins a chance at least, but he should have talked with the team first before he allowed them inside just on the off chance that their heroic moment didn’t make them “the good guys” and was just a once in a lifetime thing which didn’t extend to their stance on the Avengers. They could still want to kill them all, even after helping save the civilians. Saving them doesn’t mean they don’t hate the Avengers or Tony specifically anymore.
[I dunno where the fandom takes the idea from that Steve threw the shield at Tony, while he threw it at the electonics around the cradle, but I remember finding a similar scene in which Steve was holding his shield in his hands when he threw himself at Tony, so maybe there are like several scenes online, or maybe we all are remembering this scene wrong? Anyway, Steve did aim his punch at Tony’s chest. His vulnerable area. Yeah, Tony repulsed him earlier and unibeamed him on low settings when the punch was incoming, but as far as Tony was concerned, Steve brought enemy agents in, and could as well be mind controled by them to do their bidding. He had to stop him.]
Not only that, but he also threw himself with a punch at Tony, when Tony was not wearing his armor and was only saved, because the chest piece came in time to take the punch! He could have killed him or injure him! He doesn’t know how much Tony’s chest can take, he could break his sternum! From the outside perspective, it looks as if he was betraying the team by not telling them about his choice.
He didn’t ask anybody for permission. He just did it.
Wanda stans don't have the common sense on whom to blame; the one who USED the weapons that killed her family, or one who created those weapons.
Like, I have been noticing them saying that Tony was at fault, and he killed Wanda's parents. One question, it looks like they haven't watched the previous movies yet. So if I ask them, was he there on the spot itself? Did he drop that weapon specially in their house? Did they even realise which timeline they're talking about? When Tony didn't knew his weapons were causing destruction.
Because Tony was under the influence of Obaidiah Stane. The one who made him create the weapons and sooner distributed them to the terrorist organisations.
In IM1, after getting kidnapped in Afghanistan, he openly announced that he was shutting down his weapons company the moment he saw his own weapons back there;
"I saw young Americans killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw that I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero accountability."
I had my eyes opened. I came to realize that I have more to offer this world than just making things that blow up. And that is why, effective immediately, I am shutting down the weapons manufacturing division of Stark International until such a time as I can decide what the future of the company will be.
What direction it should take, one that I'm comfortable with and is consistent with the highest good for this country, as well."
So, it just creates an irony why they still call Tony a murderer for Wanda's parents. Fine, it's traumatic, but at least I wouldn't blame the company but the one who used the weapons.
You said everything perfectly Tony isn’t the one who killed Wanda’s parents and I’m pretty sure that when her parents died he just barely got the company! I don’t know why they made this a thing in AOU it just seems unnecessary why not just have a random bomb kill her parents or something there was a lot of waysage of Ultron could of gone to make it better!
I actually remember reading this on the anti Wanda maximoff tag some time ago,but it really made an impact.the post was talking about how Wanda stans/tony antis shit on tony for trying to kill Bucky(which he wasn't bc he would have destroyed him,we've all seen iron man 2 and 3.if he wanted you dead you'd be dead)but like rabidly support Wanda and her revenge.
When I said I wanted more female representation in the MCU, this was not what I meant.
Honestly, Wanda stans give me a worse headache than cap stans. At least with Cap stans, Ik they’re just falling for that stupid USA propaganda. Other than being fooled by her white woman tears™️, idk wtf is wrong with her stans.
Wanda fully aware chose to join Hydra, a neo-nazi organization, as an adult, just because they were offering her “revenge” on Tony Stark, which makes her a fucking neo-nazi. She consciously decided to use her powers to mind-rape the Avengers. She actively decided to send the Hulk on a rampage to kill innocent civilians. She actively supported Ultron up until she realized she was one of the fucking humans he was going to wipe out, which makes her joining the Avengers a conflict of interest at best and pure self preservation/manipulation at worst. And all of that is just Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Later, she murders POC innocent civilians because she has no control over her powers, then gets upset and throws a fit when Tony says, “hey, maybe you shouldn’t be on life-or-death missions when you can’t control your powers”. Imagine if someone who didn’t know how to use a gun waltzed into the middle of a highly stressful mission in the middle of civilian ground with a machine gun, murdered innocent people, then got upset that they had to face consequences.
Then she throws a fit when someone suggests her microwave boyfriend’s life is less important than millions of innocent civilians, and with Cap’s support, thousands of Wakandans (black Africans) are killed, for nothing might I add considering she did a shit job and Thanos still got a hold of Vision’s stone, and half of the universe is snapped.
And woe is she, so she loses control of her powers, again, and enslaves a whole fucking city. But she didn’t know! So when she finds out that she’s hurting all of them, she throws another fit and forces them to continue playing along with her little fantasy.
And not once has she ever learned from any of her mistakes. Not once has she been humbled. Not once has she been forced to face the consequences of her actions. In fact, for her mistakes, others are punished.
But it’s alright. All of this is alright. She’s grieving and traumatized after all. Right? Because Tony Stark killed her parents with his bomb when she was a child.
Cry me a river. Why doesn’t she try to get revenge on the terrorists that deployed the bombs? Why does she actively choose to be an entitled cunt and put thousands of POC lives at risk? Why does she join a fucking neo-nazi organization?
Imagine going “oh I’m sad, I’ll join the KKK to feel better”.
But Tony is rich and she’s a white woman and she cries on screen.
And that, right there, is their logic I guess.
This was so well written and explained. If you seriously don’t understand pro team ironman, please read it.
To all those team cappers, have a look at the below, if you really wanna know why the people with, y'know, common sense are so anti team cap.
that one scene where merlin was going through arthur's drawers and when arthur woke up he panicked and said "i'm looking for woodworms" and arthur just gave him an unimpressed look through his sleepy eyes and asked with the softest voice, "...before breakfast?" the way he sounded so unguarded and so vulnerable in that moment. the way he trusts him with his life. do you even understand?? this is the guy that jumps out of his bed at the slightest noise and pulls out his sword. he woke up to find merlin basically in his face and he was unfazed. he felt so safe and so comfortable around him it's actually making me sob
ong the love of my life
thank you for this beautiful art

I have an aroace best friend, and she’s still not sure because her own mother tells her that that doesn’t exist, and that she’ll find someone. It pisses me off so much. AROACE people are valid. If someone told her otherwise, even in lgbtq+ spaces, she’d probably say she was wrong, because its taken her a while to come to terms with it. I can’t imagine Bella’s situation, and I’m sorry she went through that. Anyone who doesn’t believe Aros and Aces are valid and queer can get off my page.
Not too long ago, my friend Bella came out as aromantic to me, and now I’ve got some things to say.
I was the one who told her what aromantic means, because I was explaining different sexual orientations to her. I remember saying, “Asexualiy is when you have romantic attraction, but no sexual attraction.”
Bella immedently, without missing a beat, asked, “Is there an opposite to that?”
I asked what she meant, and she asked if there was a term for sexual attraction but no romantic attraction. I told her about aromantics. She got weirdly quiet, then excused herself.
Not two weeks later I was heading to my boat. I was supposed to meet Bella and another one of our muteral friends there for a day of fishing.
As soon as I was in earshot, I saw Bella storming off the boat, and our other friend standing there like an idiot. Boi had no idea what was happening.
Anyway, Bella isn’t looking where she’s going and walks smack dab into me. That’s when I realized she was crying. Puffy red eyes, wet cheeks, the whole nine yards… And if you know anything about Bells, she does not cry. Ever.
She’s been through some serious crap in her life, and she does not cry. She’s tough as nails. Bella has a steel core. She does not not cry. I’ve seen her fall off a roof and break her arm before, not a single tear. I can’t stress this enough, Bella. Doesn’t. Cry.
So seeing her in tears shook me. I took her by the shoulders and escorted her somewhere more private where we could talk. We ended up in the women’s restroom, which was weird as fuck for me, because haven’t been in a woman’s rest room for years. Luckily it was empty, and I’m realistic, I know I don’t pass so well, so I don’t think anyone would have said anything anyway.
Before I can even ask her what’s wrong she hugs me around my middle and burys her face in my hoodie. Then, in a voice I can only describe as traumatized, she says, “I think I’m broken.”
I’ve never seen her in so much pain, and Bella and I are CLOSE. She’s one of my dearest friends. She’s like my little sister, but if she’s like my sister, our other muteral friend is like her twin. He and Bella have know each other WAY longer, they’re practically inseparable. They come as a pair. They’re a duo. They’re a package deal.
Appearently, said muteral friend asked Bella out and forcefully kissed her. She shoved him off, and told him she’s aromantic, which she only recently figured out. She wasn’t ready to be out, but this muteral friend left her no choice. She tried telling him no, and he didn’t listen. Bella saw no other option.
Quote on quote, this is what he said to Bella. “That’s okay. You just haven’t dated me yet. We’ve been like, unofficially together for years. You’re probably just freaked out that it’s finally going somewhere.”
After that I’m not 100% clear on what happened, but apparently Bella kept saying no Nd trying to explain herself, but he kept insisting he could ‘fix her.’
Eventudally she started crying and stormed away. That’s when I found her.
Keep in mind, this was her first experience coming out, and her best, closest friend insisted he could fix her and forcefully kissed her. I found out later he also implied corrective rape would ‘solve the problem.’
Bella was traumatized. She’s still traumatized. I tried to make her feel better by buying her an aro pride shirt, and taking her go a local LGBTQ+ hang out. I wanted her to be around like minded people, so she could see she wasn’t broken, and her identity deserved to be respected.
Instead of a warm, welcoming environment… The first thing someone said to her was, “This place is for REAL lgbt people. You don’t belong here.” He also implied she wasn’t human.
Just think about that for a minute. Her first experiences with being an out aromantic have been limited to;
A person she trusted more than anyone forcing himself upon her, claiming she was ill, and needed to be fixed. (Raped.)
Sobbing in my arms in the women’s restroom because she thought she was broken and defective.
Being told she wasn’t welcomed in LGBTQ+ spaces and called inhuman.
This isn’t what I want for her. Bella deserves better than this. She needs a support system, not all this crap. I’ve spent the past week trying to undo all the damage exclusionists, arophobes, and people she trusted did.
Aromantics and asexuals belong in the LGBTQ+ community. You literally cannot change my mind.
Arthur sends Merlin on some job and wants him to take a knightly escort to keep him out of trouble. Merlin: I'll take Gwaine with me Arthur: I said "keep you out of trouble" not "guarantee you'll get into it". Take Lancelot with you, he's the least likely to commit treason with you Merlin: You say that like he's never committed treason with me
Dudes my acc has been like 5 reposts a year but I wanna change that! I’m hoping to start posting weekly! I’m probs gonna focus on Marauders and MCU for now.
